Hi Sherry,

I had my surgery on 4/10/00. I'm 5'5 " and my paperwork had 212, but when I

went to the clinic right before my surgery, I too weighed 218. I had my

surgery, and am down to 191. If I were you, email Dr. R, and explain to him

everything you have. He did tell me I would have to write a very good

letter. I just did my packet as normal, and there was no problems!

Good Luck,

Tonni

Sherry,

I believe he goes more by you're BMI. Over 40 considered morbidily

obese(I hate those 2 words) under 40 with co-morbidities. I am 5 feet tall,

weight 216.5, my BMI is right at 42. I sent my patient info in and he didn't

email me back and say that I didn't qualify so you'll probably be OK.

I know that if Dr. R thinks you are not MiniGastricB material he will

only do the mini gastroplasty, in which he will not bypass your

intestine.(but perhap make you a small tummy)

I know Dr. R has a method to his brillance..... and so you would

probably have to lay it all out for him........your history etc....

Try to email him give him your height age,co-morbidities..etc

and the rest is up to him.

GOod Luck

The criteria really is BMI of 40 or more...not a weight.
