Does anybody else have problems with elastosis? >> Hi a (sorry I am very behind in reading emails so this is a bit late): Wow this sounds exactly like what I see and have been telling people I acquired since my rosacea showed itself two years ago. When I started out I prior to a skin peel that started this rosacea symptoms I was 34 I had beautiful clear, soft, smooth white (no redness at all) and very youthful skin. After the peel I suffered bouts of redness which I at first thought was an allergic reaction. Now, I know otherwise since learning of rosacea. In the two years since, I have seen a dramatic steady decline in the condition of my skin (obviously with rosacea) but what seems to be different about my type of rosacea over some others that I ask is they don't notice their skin looks aged. Not only has mine turned red, but it seems to have a lot less collagen and elasticity in my face. My neck on the other had where I do not have rosacea or a peel is still without redness or this loss of elasticity. I am definitely seeing what you say you notice. I dont believe its really sundamage. I didnt get that much sun and others my age dont have this dehydrated, crinkled look like my overall skin does. I am considering photoderm partly for redness but also hoping it will help with the loss of elasticity I seem to notice. P.S. Everyone still says I look 26 but I worry with this fast track to aging rosacea has started it wont be for long. Its really quite dramatic since the rosacea turned my skin red. Just to let you know your not alone in your thoughts. Renée
