Guest guest
Dear Everyone: I was wondering if my daughter would benefit from B-12 shots. She has ADHD (although has improved on SCD) but she is still has alot of bad dreams and wets the bed. She appears to be hyperactive with salycilates. I'm starting to introduce no fenol again, 1/4 of pill three times a day (before breakfast, before dinner and at bedtime). Her new school in NC will not allow any non prescription medicine to be administered in school without a doctor's note so I cannot give her any for lunch. We are evacuated right now and do not have a pediatrician yet here. Do you have to get her blood levels checked? And what benefits do you get from B-12? She gets at least 10 hours asleep every night but still wakes up tired. She has tremendous energy during the day and she has never suffered with diarrhea. Just occasional constipation. Her big complaint prior to SCD was stomach pain. Anyone out there know if B-12 shots will help. I had been giving her cod liver oil liquid twice daily for about 6 weeks. Just recently, she seems to have had an allergic reaction to it. She was getting itching whelps on her face in the morning. I'm pretty sure that's what it was. It didn't happen till I tried the Carlson's cod liver oil that is in a concentrated form by pill. Then I was just giving one a day. I guess she reacted because I was giving her too much and she became allergic or sensitive to it. When she was tested for food allergies which she tested positive to a number of things. She test positive to fish at a level of 1. I have never had trouble giving her fish or shell fish. Jeannie had at times the characteristic eye movement for autism spectrum and a sensitivity to bright light (especially when reading). I thought the cod liver oil had really helped with this because she had started reading faster and didn't want me to use a book mark anymore to block out the other sentences so this is why I wanted to continue using it, if possible. Does anyone know whether I should continue using the regular Cod Liver Oil maybe once every four days? Or if because it caused whelps, never try it again? It was only on her face which was the odd thing. I haven't given it to her in about 10 days. I was going to try again and see if she wakes up with them but I will wait for some replys. Thank you, Eileen
Guest guest
Hi, so sorry to hear that you are still evacuated, god willing you will be home soon. We are in the process of working with a DAN doctor and once the third step of our protocol is complete we are considering B-12 shots as our next approach. We having been working with this doctor since June and have had great success, we have had our Son Cullen on Cod Liver oil 1 teaspoon a day for the past 6 months without reaction. Also, he is taking Flax Seed oil, SuperNu-Thera, a yeast prevention capsule, activated charcoal and recently Nystatin 4 times a day, so I would imagine you can't justs go straight to B-12 shots, but I may be wrong. We have made great strides with our son and this seems to be the next step for us, hopefully it will work as I guess there expensive?... Good Luck, take care Lesley Mom to Cullen 7 1/2 yrs SCD 4 mos Re: Re: B-12 shots and Cod Liver Oil > Dear Everyone: > > I was wondering if my daughter would benefit from B-12 shots.
