Kathie, I too am on hold for surgery due to an existing(although I did not Know I had it) condition...Anemia. If you want to write to me anytime I would be happy to hear from you. How did you get past your PCP (ie get surgical clearance) without this being a red flag.Maybe I am not clear exactly what happened. I sure hope you did not travel a long way to have it cancelled. I would think you would also need some nutritional guidance specific to your needs. Also I am a nurse but dont know what NASH is.Could you explain it? How long have you had this if you care to share information. Also are you on a special*diet* now and do you have to take medications and vitamins for it now? Do you have any associated bleeding or other problems related to the liver disorder? Nosey questions but I feel may benefit others in case they do or develop liver trouble. If you dont want to share I understand. I am praying for you. Oxford,Ohio webonly/on hold due to anemia

Guest guest
Nash- it is inflamed fatty liver,it can lead to cirrioss. Most obese people have a fatty liver, a small % will go on to get inflamation. Rapid weight loss can cause it.

Guest guest
Kathy, How do they know if it is inflamed?
Guest guest
If your liver enzymes are up, they may want to do a biopsy. Most obese people will have a fatty liver, that is benign. If it is inflamed, then you may have Nash.
