Guest guest
Look for a " compounding pharmacy " in your area. They can make almost anything. Just give them the script from the doctor and a list of the leagal and illegal ingredients that can go into the compound. A list of the legal and illegal addatives can be found at http://www.pecanbread.com/supplements.html I would also let them know about the gluten and casien. You may also be able to get it in pill form and then crush it and att it to something that he could eat. I use applesauce and peanutbutter. I also have put his meds in a grape juice/water cup. Hope this helps! andrea mother of Caden 2 years old, SCD 8 months for yeast and Emmalynn 10 months > Hi there, > > We have strep throat going around our house and my 3 year old is SCD. > I know antibiotics are not good but from what I understand this is the > only way to treat strep. Guest guest
Would homeopathy be a possible route of treatment, as opposed to an antibiotic? Guest guest
Darci, Ask for a BICILLIN shot. It will get rid of strep in a matter of a couple of days. The shots DO hurt though. The Bicillin liquid is thick. So, the needle is pretty big to allow the medicine through it. I just tell the doctors that my son throws up oral antibiotics (which is true). He just had strep last week. Jody mom to -6 and -9 SCD 32 months

Guest guest
I really don't know if homeopathy could be used for strep. I should give my homeopathic a call and find out. > >> Hi there, > >> > >> We have strep throat going around our house and my 3 year old is > > SCD. > >> I know antibiotics are not good but from what I understand this is > > the > >> only way to treat strep. Guest guest
I am assuming they don't have this in pill or liquid form after the explanation of the huge needle, correct? I wonder if I could just give him the thick liquid of Bicillin in his mouth, he's really good about taking things down. Do you know if bicillin is gluten and casein free by any chance? Thanks so much. Darci > Darci, > > Ask for a BICILLIN shot. > It will get rid of strep in a matter of a couple of days. > > The shots DO hurt though. The Bicillin liquid is thick. You can ask a compounding phrarmacist if he/she can make you a legal version of the prescription. After the anti biotic give lots of yogurt if your child itolerates the yogurt.. Carol F. Guest guest
Hi Darci, If you go the oral antibiotic route take the probiotic and the antibiotic at least 2-3 hours apart. Otherwise, the anti may kill the good bacteria in the probiotic also. Sheila, SCD 55 mos, 21 yrs UC mom of , SCD 40 mos >
Guest guest
That has worked to rid my kids of strep throat. Unless you really have experience with homeopathy, you need a homeopathic physician or naturopath to help you know what remedy to give your particular child who is ill. The same remedy will not necessarily work for the same child. Since is so sensitive to drugs, I often treat her with homeopathic remedies and they usually do the trick so that she rarely has to use an antibiotic.
