Guest guest
One has to be really careful in administering Water Enemas to children for various reasons (even just plain water ones). 1- The water should be purified- if it's not - you're introducing chlorine which kills good bacteria and possibly introducing parasites, etc.. which are present in our unfiltered water (public or well). 2- Other things that are contraindicated is if the child has an obstruction or another problem called a megacolon from accumulation of feces. The water can enlarge the colon and is dangerous. There are other issues that are also needing of caution. 3- The other thing is that if the child has an electrolyte inbalance, then introducing water may wash away needed minerals.... This is also dangerous.... 4- The enema bottle may be made from latex, and we have heard of latex allergies! Mimi PS. I am thankful to the list member who sent me this info!
