I am six weeks post op and it seems that the last couple of days it is starting to creep up 140/83. So I was kind of glad to see your post about having to resume a med after 3 months post op. It's always good to know you aren't alone. When did your BP start going up? Are you on a lower dose of meds now then before surgery? Guest guest
Jane, Thanks for the info (again) on your surgery bills, I need to know did you have the pump in the hospital and did you have any other frills?
Guest guest
Hi Jane, I had been checking it occasionally and it was ok. I just remember my hubby doing a random check for me one day 3 months post op and out of the blue it was up again- 150's to 160's/ 100. Of course that got me upset, then the clincher was in the next day a random check of 180/120! My Dr. wanted me to start taking Cozaar 50mg again but not the HCTZ that I had taken with it preop. I was bummed. I did e-mail Dr. R. and he said to just keep a very close watch on it. He said with more weight loss it very well may come down. I sure hope so. That is one thing I would like to get rid of along with the fat! This is my family history of hypertension: mother, brother, grandmother, several aunts. I don't want to follow in their footsteps. It stays in the 130/80 range with medication right now, so I'm not off the hook yet! Hope yours stays down. Good luck, Karin ................................................................. > > starting to creep up 140/83.
