Guest guest
Dear , You may need to recheck your insurance policy to see if there is a deductible charged for certain kinds of treatments. While my HMO covers just about everything with a minimal copay it does not offer the same coverage for in patient hospital care. I also have a $1500 deductible. I hope this helps. -Beth > I got a call from the billing department at Durham Regional Hospital > the other day. Guest guest
Dear : Have you contacted Kim at United Healthcare yet? This seems wrong...when I had my babies everything was covered 100%! Did they say what the $1500 was even for? And I thought there was only a deductible if you went out of network. Dr. R is IN the network. I'll see what I can find out, since I'll be going through the same thing and don't want to get stuck with a $1500 bill unexpectedly!!! Please keep in touch, and let me know if you find out more information. We'll get this figured out. Don't worry! Blessings ~Amy. _____________________________________________ Amy S. Poe MGB 5/22/2000 280/140 United Healthcare Select Plus POS approved what does this mean?? I got a call from the billing department at Durham Regional Hospital the other day. They said they verified my insurance (United Healthcare POS) and that I have a $1500 out of pocket. I also have a $300 deductible that she said hasn't been met yet. I told her I have had a lot of tests and Dr's visits and I know the deductible HAS been met already, so she said she would make a note of that. But, I still have a $15oo out of pocket. Now, they are in my network and I thought that meant they have a contract (managed care) with United. Does this mean I have to pay the $1500 up front before I can get the surgery? I am scheduled for Monday the 15th and I don't want to show up just to have them say " give us 1500.00 now " !! Dr. Rutledge is also in my network and I got the bill from his office for the $15 co- pay and the rest is either written off (because of the agreed upon contract with United) or paid by insurance. I know this is really wordy and I am sorry but could ANYONE PLEASE help me?? I don't want this to worry about before the surgery and I don't want to ask too many questions to the billing dept. at the hospital and give them any ideas!!!! Guest guest
, I also have the same insurance. They said I owed $250.00. I wonder why the same insurance could be different prices? I know this isn't a help but maybe someone at your insurance company could give you the answer. I hope they fix this for you. Guest guest
It's a $1500 " stop loss " probably. It's a good thing. That means that even if there are things that you would ordinarily have to pay (on say, an 80%-20% type insurance payment), once you've paid out $1500, they still have to cover it. > I got a call from the billing department at Durham Regional Hospital > the other day. Guest guest
With insurance you shouldn't have to pay the out-of-pocket amount when you are admitted, but you will be responsible for making arrangements for payment. (That is at least the way it is with our hospital, 40 minutes away.) fg At 11:54 PM 05/10/2000 -0000, you wrote: >I got a call from the billing department at Durham Regional Hospital >the other day. Guest guest
Most Hospital will have you to sign an agreement stating you will pay all outstanding bal. left that the Ins. want pay. This is usually not an up front fee. Then you will but able to make payment arrangement with the account office. But I would call them or DR R office and ask this question.
