Well I went to my pcp, what a gem...I thank God for leading us to

him.

He was all for it and said the insurance will be stupid if they give

you a hassel over it, especially if it only costs 10K.

I gave him a ton of stuff and we talked a bit (both my hubby and I

will be going through the porcess). He seemed great with it and sees

it as nothing but a benifit. We actually talked about a lady who was

in righ before us, that is haveing all kinds of problems due to her

weight, so maybe if we get approved he will suggest it to that other

lady who also has the same ins.

Now for the insurance games. I will be filling out the online form

for Dr R once for myself and once for my husband. I will call my

insurance to find out the process for preappoval. My pcp said that

that part is up to us. He supports us in our decision, 100%, but the

ins is our problem. (I think he tried at one time for hubby, and go

nowhere).

Please pray that the ins will be cooperative for us, and that we both

get approved.

We sound like carbon copies. I live in land and also have Free State

insurance. They wanted to send me to JOhns HOpkins and talk to someone

about the RNY open surgery. They approved the procedure but not out of

network. I have filed a grievance/appeal with them. I received a letter

dated April 17, 2000 that they are reviewing my request to go out of network

and they would have an answer in 30 working days - that puts it at about the

end of May. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Also,

e-mail me and let me know where you are in the process.
