Oh Sherry, I'm so sorry. Even my insurance company says they can change the

plan in the middle of the year if they wish (either add/subtract

coverages--usually subtract) all they have to do is send you the addendum or

another booklet. It's wrong, but that's they way they are.

Sherry I have Healthkeepers too. Already denied once ,but I'm appealing

Igot coverage in 08/1/96 Did they cover it then? Marilyn Cheely in Va

Cathy,

I called and spoke to my insurance co. as soon as I got my PCP approval.

They told me it would take a week to get an answer. I sent my patient

information in on the first of May. When I got my letter from Dr. R's office I

calcualted a week from that date and started calling. The receptionist was kind

enough to give me the name and ext. of the utilization review nurse that was

responsible for my form. I would call her every day and usually twice to find

out when I would get an answer. I was denied once for requesting out of network

and then when they found out no one else did this they reconsidered. Once they

requested more information. I was able to fax info I had from the manual and

they approved it last friday. My insurance is Free State a subsidiary of Blue

Cross Blue Shield. But, the short answer is start calling now.
