Guest guest
Hi. My name is and I had surgery 3-15-00. After feeling chest discomfort upon awakening from anesthesia from having had my abdomen infused with gas , I used the pump for pain and slept well. Next morn when I got up I felt like my old self. I had surg. 1pm and went home 9am the next morn. I stayed home from work 2 wks because I am a nurse in forensics and my pts. are violent. But I did any activity I wanted to, drank as the manual recommended and did well. At 2wks I started to nibble. I never had nausea, vom., or diarrhea. I have worked since and feel better than I ever have. 20 lb lost so far. I have water aerobics 3x week. My suit is getting too big.Now I can wear support hose and feel springy. Incontinence is gone. Muscle pain is gone. Familial action tremor is gone. 2 BP meds are gone. It truly is like being given a new body. Who cares about a little bruise on the tummy or being a little loose-skinned for a while? I felt gross the other way.I see a lot of questions here that are answered in the manual. One is about the referral form form PCPs. DrR has a sample form. Your doctor does NOT have to approve of the procedure (if not a surgeon he wouldn't understand it anyway) nor does he refer you as in HMO talk. He just has to say he will care for you and you will have regular labs, etc to monitor your nutritional and health status. Also, When doing the patient info NEVER hit " enter " until the very last. We have a typing habit of hitting " enter " . This is what ends your form and wipes the info away. Other advice: use DrR's list for your 10 contacts, a-mail and call people and when you find a satisfied customer (which all of mine were, esp. nurses) stick with that one for comfort and questions. You need a buddy and a positive-thinker. Even if I had suffered pain, n/v, diarrhea, and lost my hair, it would be worth it to see my shoulder bones again, my knees, cross my legs, curl up on the couch, and many more advantages. I am so very thankful to God for my second chance at life and to DrR who must be the most courageous man to go against the status quo and help people like me.
