Guest guest
HI Ladies, Just an update...I did a liver flush the day before yesterday, and had some good results yesterday morning with lots of stones. I really didn't feel as awful as I expected that I would while doing the flush. I fasted the day of the flush, and the next day when I was eliminating all the stones, I felt actually pretty good! I have had instances in the past where I felt horrible while passing those stones. So, I think things are looking pretty good right now. I'm continuing to do some fasting, as I did in the early years of my illness. The fasting seems to be clearing stuff out. I'd really like to do a colon cleanse like Dr. Bernard Jensen's 7 day cleanse. I'll keep looking for Deb's letter....wondering if I have a copy of it SOMEWHERE in my files. But to get to the point, she is one of the first persons who really, really focused on the colon cleansing as her key to recovery. I agree that it is very important, as I experienced much healing progress after my major fasting efforts. But I know, based on what I've heard from women and other people over the years that I've been involved in natural healing methods.....some people just do not want to make big changes in their life. When it comes to food and eating, this is one of the biggest obstacles to success, because major changes and long term changes have problems with compliance. Hope everyone is having a great day! DID YOU DO A PARASITE CLEANSE BEFORE THE LIVER FLUSH? I JUST ASKED CARLIN ABOUT THE ORDER OF CLEANSES AND THE IMPORTANCE IN THAT. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, Going slow is a good idea...you don't want to overwhelm your body with a huge surge of released toxins. As I wrote in my previous post about herxheimer reactions, sometimes these happen, but it can also be an indication that you need to slow down that healing process so your organs can catch up with everything. You have a great attitude about the healing process.. it is what is needed to make it through! I did not do a parasite cleanse before the liver flush. I am of the opinion, based on my own experiences, that while following the order of the suggested cleansing is a good idea, it is not always practical, and sometimes you just need to do it and get it done, in whatever order you can work into your schedule. If you need to do a liver flush, by all means do it and don't worry about the other stuff first because that could take weeks. You can always do another liver flush later. I've done a parasite cleanse in the past, but I did not see results. I don't know if it was the product I used or what, but in any case, I found that I could do a liver flush when I wanted to and I didn't worry about the parasite cleanse. I've also done a kidney cleanse...very involved and I took the herbs instead of making the brew that Dr. suggested. As for protocols, do an internet search...there are various ways to do them. For instance, for a colon cleanse, you can take pills, you can do enemas, you can do colema's, you can do coffee enemas, you can do colonics, you can do a salt water flush, you can use magnesium citrate, you can do a master cleanse.... You pick what sounds most comfortable, practical and affordable to you. Of course, there are degrees of cleansing with each of the above listed colon cleanses, but again, I am of the opinion if you need to get it done, just do it. If you are constipated and need to move your bowels, just get on the floor and do an enema, or a coffee enema as soon as you can! Or take magnesium citrate....the goal is to get that colon cleared out of junk. These easy efforts should be followed by deeper cleansing efforts. You can fine tune your program of cleansing to fit your needs, your schedule, your pocketbook. That is the beauty of healing. We can all do it. Guest guest
I should have clarified about the kidney cleanse....I DID make the brew that Dr. called for. I DID everything as she said for both my husband and myself. We went through it all. It took several weeks and lots of work in the kitchen, and hunting down the wildcrafted herbs at a local herb store. It was enough work that I said next time I'm just taking the herbs! Some of us have had kidney issues...I know I had a bunch of kidney infections at the time that I was first sick. I ended up in the emergency room twice and I lost count of how many times I felt a bladder infection brewing and nipped it in the bud with cranberry juice and drinking a gallon of water while sitting on the toilet. No fun. Those days are gone. Haven't had kidney issues in awhile. But I think we should remain vigilant with our kidney health. I've heard of two cases recently where people were just going along in life, fat dumb and happy, and next thing they know, they are diagnosed with a serious kidney disease that will have a fatal ending. Care for those kidneys girls. Guest guest
HI GG, I mostly do water fasts. I go for about 3 days at a time. I've never really had any issues with sleeping during fasting, or with hunger. Of course, when I first started fasting, I had hunger issues, so I know they can be difficult, but it is more of a mental challenge at that point. By the second day, hunger issues usually disappear, and are not bothersome. Have you been able to go long enough to get past the hunger? It sounds as if you should probably stick with juice fasting with your metabolism, for the calories...or if you try water only fasting, to do it with supervision. The one thing that fasting will do is to help slow down a too-fast metabolism, but of course, for some that can mean weight gain. (studies have shown that those who fast or undereat live longer than those who overeat.) Is lowering your metabolism something you would want? I always feel better after fasting...and that is why I have suggested it for others. However, for some it is definitely a good idea to only undertake it with assistance from a doctor who understands it. There are things they can watch for, like your electrolyte balance, to know when it is time to go off the fast. Thin people can fast with water only successfully. Let me know if you do it!
