it possible to get the doc to prescribe some kind of sedative to calm you

Jackie you sound fine to me!(Maybe that's not comforting?) The night before I

cried so hard on ethe phone to my sister I couldn't finish talking.Jim had to

convince her I was okay,Mom heard and came over and told me it was okay to

change my mind, and my neighbor called and said he'd pray the rosary for

me(I'm baptist,but it sounded nice) I was a wreck! BUT_When I hit N.C. I

shook it off and prepared my mind for " battle " ,nothing but positive

thoughts.I wouldn't even tell my husband good-bye on the way to the OR,just

I'll see you later.....that way I'd feel I had a date and couldn't die,just

on principle.

Take care and fret ALL YOU WANT! It's how your body prepares for an

Thanks for the great advice. I will begin to do just that -- prepare

for battle. And most of all trust in God,

Thanks,

Nora,

That's just how I felt. The process is so long, I think for a long

time I was just focused on the details. When I finally got approved

and got a date, it was finally " real " and I got nervous. It is good

that you have some time to get ready, both physically and mentally.

I am a really emotional person, and had alot of tears the morning of

my first surgery attempt. I am definately going to ask for them to

prescribe something for me to calm me down for the few days leading

up to the surgery. You might want to think about that because I

think the surgery and healing process will go better if I go into it

without being so tense.

Please feel free to email me if you want to talk further.

Nora,

I went in last monday and they couldn't intubate me, so no surgery.

I am going in again on Oct. 13th. Hopefully I come home with a pouch

this time!!
