In fact when I went to clinic the following Saturday I asked Dr. Rutledge if that was normal and he put the question to some post op people that were there. They all said that is normal and the first month is hard. Well after I got back to Wisconsin I started making some fresh fruit protein drinks and pea soup became a main stay for me. That helped. It did take over a month for it to get really better though. I felt like I was just on a strict diet. Only after a 6 weeks has it truly gotten better. I still have some days that I am more hungry than others...today was one of those. I even emailed Dr. R a couple of weeks ago and told him I was doing well but said I was surprised about the hunger. His response simply was " why did you think you wouldn't be hungry " . I find if I stay away from carbs during the day, the hunger is much less. It is getting better all the time. Guest guest
~~ Citrucel is a wonderful thing........it cures both diarrhea and constipation. It absorbs water where it's runny, and it keeps things moving so they don't get hard and crusty. :-)))) my two cents......take the citrucel. fg At 06:50 PM 05/18/2000 -0000, you wrote: >If there are any recent or not so recent post ops that could answer a >question for me; I have ALOT of hunger. Guest guest
, Start the citrucel it will help the diarrhea. It can give you some bulk with all the liquids. And yes I was hungry for the first few days. I'm now ten days post op and usually one time per day I start feeling really hungry and then I realize it's been 4 hours and I haven't even had my supplements of meds. I do best it I ha e something in my stomach at least every three hours. I found my headaches were associated with not enough fluids after day 6. So now I 've increased the amounts of fluids and no more headaches. Just keep sipping all day long and take the supplements. I'm doing great. No one at work can believe it.
