My prayers are with you Ann. I've been waiting only for about 3 weeks to hear

something from my insurance. I guess I need to call, they may say they

haven't gotten mine also. I wonder does the info you faxed have to be faxed?

If not why not try registered mail with return receipt addressed to whatever

dept. its supposed to go to, then you would have proof of them receiving it

as you would have a signed card in you're possession that would prove it and

maybe stop them from giving you the run around.

Cathy,

That is exactly what I will be doing. I will call back tomorrow

morning (they said that it takes up to 72 hours just to record the

receipt of the fax!!), and if they haven't received it I will send it

overnight, regsitered, return receipt requested. If that doesn't do

it, NOTHING WILL!!!!

Don't wait to hear from the insurance company. Call and at least

verify that your request has been received.

Dear Ann,

I went through much the same with BCBS of NC. I finally called the

Insurance Commission and they suggested that I talk with my Human

Resources Department here at work. Our representative called BCBS and

was able to get a fax number which was totally different than all the

previous ones I had been given.

BCBS called me that afternoon to tell me the fax had been received

and additional information needed to be submitted. They wanted any

medical records over the last 3-5 years that stated anything about

obesity, weight loss medications and/or co-morbidities. I faxed the

medical records that I had obtained for my packet as well as my

letter of support from my PCP. I was approved the following afternoon

after 6 weeks of runaround.

I would suggest that if you mail the information be sure to include

past medical history and the letter of support. Often times these

things will be requested AFTER the information from Dr. R's office

has been reviewed. This may save you a few days/weeks in the process.

Good luck in your endeavor ... I KNOW the frustration.
