Guest guest
Hi, We are trying to start the diet as a family. I have a 4 yo with ASD and a severe corn allergy, a 2 yo that is allergic to dairy and soy, and a 5 mo baby that seems to be reacting to foods I eat (she is still exclusively breastfed). My 4 yo has sensory issues and refuses eggs and dry cottage cheese, plus we are vegetarian. I am having trouble figuring out how to proceed with the intro diet. Is there a soup we can substitute for the chicken soup in the intro diet? Any dinner ideas? I imagine we might be able to live on cheesecake (provided ds will eat it, it'll be out of the oven soon). Also, in the book it says certain foods can be introduces " when the diarrhea subsides " but that hasn't really been an issue for us. What timetable can we use to introduce the almond flour baked goods, cooked fruits and veggies, yogurt and such. I know I have read this info somewhere, but my mind is swimming in all this information Thanks! Laurie
Guest guest
Have you had yourself tested for allergies as well as sensitivities? With my little boy, it turned out that my body wasn't breaking down food because of my own weak digestion and sensitivities, and he was reacting to those foods because of that. Guest guest
This is exactly what I think is happening! That is my main motivation for starting at this point, to prevent further damage to my 5 mo old. Of course helping the other 2 is important as well. Elaine explained that before healing the immune system can perceive almost anything as a threat and react. It turned out to be completely true for me. It turned out that I soon did fine with DCCC, eggs and a lot of other items that were suspect but not with a certain category of foods that are cross reactive to Latex Allergy.
