Guest guest
Hi Patty, I'm starting progesterone cream tomorrow. According to the directions, I can take 1 ml of cream once daily or 1/2 ml twice daily. I was wondering if you take it once a day or is there a benefit to splitting the dose? Thanks and hope you are doing well! PH
Guest guest
Hi PH, I take my progesterone cream only on days 15-30 of my cycle, and only at bedtime. (Once a day.) It's just easier for me to remember to do it then, plus, it can have a tendency to induce sleepiness, so that just seems a more appropriate time. Keep me posted on how it works for you! Sorry I have not been good at responding to your email...I receive email in several locations, and I don't always get to all of them! How do you like your new doctor? I will finally be going to a new doctor in June, as a follow up to my scorpion sting. It's an immunologist, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a good one. Since I couldn't get in for about 6 weeks, I'm thinking that is a good sign. Take care and I hope you are feeling well! Patty > > Hi Patty, > > I'm starting progesterone cream tomorrow. Guest guest
Thanks for the info, ! Also, I know you were on 50 mg of progesterone. Did you work your way up to that dosage or start out with that? PH > > > > Hi Patty, > > > > I'm on day 12 of my progesterone cream (or day 26 of my cycle...or day 1 since I started my period). Should I continue the progesterone cream for the next 2 days as indicated on the prescription (days 14-28) or do I stop it since my period started early? > > > > Also, how much progesterone do you take? I know it's individual but I'm just curious. I've read that 30+mg is the therapeutic dose. I am only on 20. How did you know you were at an effective dose...by symptoms alone or by a particular estrogen/progesterone ratio? > > > > Thanks! > > PH > > >
Guest guest
Hi Patty, Mine comes from a special compounding pharmacy and is a cream that is dispensed through a syringe w/o the needle. All is says on it is progesterone #467. PH > > > > > > > > > > Hi Patty, > > > > > > > > > > I'm on day 12 of my progesterone cream (or day 26 of my cycle...or day 1 since I started my period). Guest guest
For about a year I used an OTC one that was apparently made from " yams. " As it did not help any symptoms, I switched to one from the compounding pharmacy--which I was told is soy based (which does concern me a bit but my research and results also indicated it is the stronger progesterone. Like PH, mine comes in a syringe like tube although that is just to measure it--it is a cream. There are some varying opinions as to where to apply it and whether to switch areas....I am really curious to see where my progesterone level is now. Last time it was measured I was in the luteal phase and the reference range was 4-26 and my result was a 4. That was before I switched to the compounding pharmacy brand so hopefully it has gone up. I do still show signs of low progesterone though. > > > > > > > > > > Hi Patty, > > > > > > > > > > I'm on day 12 of my progesterone cream (or day 26 of my cycle...or day 1 since I started my period).
