Guest guest
We are going to China in November to adopt a baby girl and are hoping to bring along our four year old daughter who is on SCD. Has anyone managed to travel successfully in Mainland CHina on SCD? I'm concerned that most meats are premarinated in soy sauce and dressed in cornstarch. We'll be staying in 5 star hotels (in Beijing, Nanchang and Guanzhou), and my sister, who is fluent in Mandarin, will be along to translate our dietary needs. we plan to bring along nuts, dried fruits and veggies, and homemade seed crackers and beef jerky. Still, we will largely be dependant on restaurant food. We'll have a hot water heater in our room and a fridge but no stove and probablyh no microwave. Also, it may not be that easy to get to the market. If we have no choice but to permit an infraction, which is worse: meat dressed in soy sauce (which contains gluten) and cornstarch, or rice?
