Guest guest
Hi Janie, We have several good Texas doctors on our list. I'll post them. TEXAS DR. SHUJAAT ALI KHAN, M.D., P.A., F.A.C.S. Medical Plaza Professional Building, 800, 8th Avenue, Suite 200 Fort Worth, Texas, 76104 Office – (817) 335-6363 Fax – (817) 870-1222 Toll Free – 1-800-434-4898 info@... Comment from one of our ladies: " My explant doctor was Dr. Shujaat Khan ten years ago. . . I think he did a good job of explanting me. However, when I tried discussing the implant situation with him, he became very angry! At that time he was adament that breast implants don't cause health problems. The problem was the attorneys. . . .Also, his office did not inform me that my insurance would not cover my surgery until the day before the surgery. He was considerably more expensive and the surgical center he uses for explant really sticks it to you without telling you in advance what the charges will be.You may want to question him thoroughly. " DR. DORA, plastic surgeon, Houston, TX DR. STEVEN M. HAMILTON, M.D., F.A.C.S. St. Luke's Medical Tower, 6624 Fannin Suite 1650 Houston, Texas 77030 1-713-797-1007 http://www.nemch.org/medicalstaff/dhamiltons.html Very thorough and knowlegeable of silicone issues Dr. Karin Montero P/S 11149 Research Blvd. Suite 200 Austin, TX 78759 (512) 343-2400 http://pages.sbcglobal.net/karinmonteromd/english/main.htm (Dr. Montero has been suggested by many ladies; however, the one recent operative report we reviewed, she did not remove that lady's implants " en bloc " although she did do a total capsulectomy. Question her carefully and get it in writing she will make every effort to remove yours that way) Dr. P. Melmed P/S 777 Forest LN,. #10 Dallas, TX 75230 (214)661-7755 http://www.perfectyourself.com/search/surgeon.asp?sid=2899 On principle, will not place any breast implants in any woman. Explantations only. Dr. J Rea, surgeon Environmental Health Center 8345 Walnut Lane Suite 220 Dallas, TX 75231 214-368-4132 email: contact@... http://www.ehcd.com/center/professionalbio.html (Very good, particularly if you have multiple chemical sensitivities and/or allergies making explant more complicated). Rod J. Rohrich, MD,FACS Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute Baylor Medical Center / Dallas 411 N. Washington Street, Ste. 6000 Dallas, TX 75246 http://www.drrohrich.com/ Dr. Rohrich is Professor & Chairman of the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgey at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He has a clinical practice at Baylor University Medical Center & Zale Lipshy University Medical Center at Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Rohrich's Baylor Office is much more organized and easier to work with, than his Zale Lipshy Office. Dr. Rohrich 'knows' there are, indeed, problems with breast implants, and does not try to talk you into replacing implants. He was a significant researcher & inventor of the trilucent implants. He has a very impressive CV. He also has a wife, Dianne Gibby, a plastic surgeon in private practice at Medical City Dallas, and none of us would care to use her, for several reasons. I must also tell you that Dr. Rohrich has been on retainer with Dow for several years now; which simply means you should be careful about information you report to him, and tests you have him run. I always had my PCP do all my blood work, and simply took lab copies to Dr. Rohrich, and Dr. Rohrich does not know that I know this. My experience & outcome with Dr. Rohrich was great --- I just was not too comfortable finding out about his association with Dow, although it has never affected me! MAM-NSIF@... DR. ROLAND WOLF, 1100 - 19th St., Abilene, TX 79601, 1-915-677-5169 (New to our list; be certain to get in writing from him he will remove your implants " en bloc " and do a total capsulectomy, if at all possible. Please report any experiences, good or bad, with him.) Dr. Fabian Worthing P.S 17070 Red Oak Dr. Suite 307 Houston, TX 77090 (281)440-0617 http://www.drworthing.com/ (This surgeon takes VIDEO TAPE of your explant!) PATRICK HODGES, M.D. 8220 Walnut Hill, Suite 206 Dallas, Texas 75231 (214) 739-5760 > > hello my name is Janie Alaniz . I just joined yesterday and im so glad I did. Guest guest
Hi Janie, I'm glad you find this board helpfu! We just want women to get the help they need to get their health back. What kind of issues are you having with your implants? If you do go for an explant, and you have systemic health issues, please make sure you thoroughly discuss the need for a total capsulectomy with your explant. It is vital for healing! Keep us posted!
