Guest guest
Mark: I can answer your questions as they apply to me. Understand that everyone is different and that my experiences don't reflect anyone else's. 1. Yes, I had problems with swelling before the surgery. The fat along my legs has gone down and stayed down. I had a constant rash on the inside of my thighs. But my ankle and foot swelling was a problem. It partly cleared up after surgery but has recently (month 4) flared up again though not as bad as before. The doctor has me on diuretics and it has pretty much solved the problem. 2. No, I did not have a second flap of fat below the "normal" apron. The apron that I do have has reduced dramatically. I saw a plastic surgeon recently and he said I may well not even need to have the apron removed unless I just want to. He did say that I shouldn't make that decision until after I have lost another 70 pounds or so and not now. We'll see. 3. Complications are not normal. But yes, I had them. In spades. I am alive today thanks to the prayers of this group, the love of my wife and the grace of God. If you're interested you can go to the link in my signature where it's discussed in detail. But I would absolutely have the surgery again without even giving it a second thought. I can now go places and do things that I couldn't even consider before surgery. And all my co-morbidities are gone. It is a brand new and wonderful life. Regards. Guest guest
, If you are answering messages within the rosacea-support site, to respond to the group as a whole you would choose rosacea- support in the To: box. I believe the other choices in that box are the original poster's email address and the rosacea- support group owner. If you are answering from your own email address box, most email services have a reply to all. I think you need to hit that or just be careful and pick out the rosacea- support address in your email and delete the original poster's address. For which ingredients to avoid, rosaceans as a group have many different topical triggers. There are lists, however, that have which ingredients to stay away from generally. One of those lists are http://www.rosacea.org Dr. Nase (http://www.drnase.com) has a list of ingredients that rosaceans should avoid. I believe you have to buy the book to get that list. It's a comprehensive book on rosacea, and might be worth your while to get. Take care, Matija > Two questions... one cean, one list procedure. > > First, in every other list I'm on and I'm on many for many years, when you > hit " reply " to a post the reply to is always the list in general. Guest guest
, I don't have Eudora, so I don't know why you get only the poster's name as a reply to. Perhaps Eudora accepts only the first name in a list of senders, and that happens to be the original poster? I don't know. The only solutions I can think of are 1) on your reply to from Eudora, manually insert rosacea-support as one of the recipients of your email or 2) go into web-only mode and read the messages at the Yahoo Groups website. There you can have a choice as I state below. If someone else has a solution on dealing with Eudora, please let us know! About the listings of topical items that aren't good for the face, the information at the NRS site is the information that is usually pasted on other places (usually medical websites). If you want something more than that, I can paraphrase Dr. Nase who says that all bhas and ahas, and all alcohols will cause irritation in rosaceans. I have other topicals which cause me problems, like chemical sunscreens and mineral oil, which other rosaceans use with no problem. Besides the obvious ones (like Dr. Nase's short list and the one at the NRS), the other topical triggers are individual, unfortunately. There is a list that is somewhat helpful for comedogenic ingredients at http://www.zerozits.com. The list is about 20 years old and doesn't have a lot of the newer chemicals we all see on products. I hesitated to put it down in the first place, because it wasn't that helpful for me. There were things on the list that were rated as comedogenic, but I had no problems with and vice versa. I found the ingredients that caused problems for me by trial and error. You are welcome to search through our archives http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rosacea-support/ to see what other people have used successfully and what hasn't been successful. Good luck on finding what ingredients work and what doesn't work for you. Sorry I can't be of more help. Guest guest
Hello Im not sure about statistics, but I was told that women over 30 have a greater risk of multiple births. Most of the multiples of the last 5 yrs are a result of fertility treaments. I am 32 and was infertile before wls. This pregnancy was conceived the first time we actually planned the dates and time. I was very suprised it worked. We have been married 12 yrs and never concieved. Then boom I lose 120 lbs and my periods are regular for 5 months straight. I dont think the wls had anything to do with me concieving twins? I just never had periods before wls. Guest guest
I'm not sure about the pain you are experiencing, but both my sons are on SCD - one for celiac and the other for colitis. They both experienced nausea in the beginning and my youngest threw up several times in the course of several days. I've read this is very common and definitely due to die off. I know bowel changes (for the worse) can occur in the beginning as well as the stuff die off and release a lot of toxins all at once. But maybe someone can address your issues more specificially - just wanted to comment on the nausea. Robbie mom to and scd since 6/04 newbie question As a family we began SCD about a week or two ago after encouragement from our Dr. that it would help our boys--both ASD. The boys did not have BM's that were great, but not awful either. My youngest seems to be having the expected die-off reaction. My oldest is happily having regular BM's on a regular schedule. My husband has seen improvements. I have gone from regular BM's to loose & icky on this diet. We were all GF/CF for 6 months prior to this. I am also having awful stomach pain, that I have never experienced before. This is the 3rd day of stomach pain. I am starting to be concerned that this diet may not be so great. Both my boys have been nausious yesterday and today. Are we all just having a die-off? Thanks for helping. Guest guest
Thanks for the information. It seems to be getting much better whatever it was. I think my stomach pain may have been more of a back pain. Somehow, I forgot!?!, that I had spent 2 whole days at my sewing machine trying to finish up a project. Kids will make you forget the biggest things! We were GF/CF because of the boys. Before we got a Dr. we researched and decided to give it a try to see if there would be any noticable changes. We saw almost overnight changes. My boys were like different kids. We'll be sticking with SCD for a while. I've been seeing noticable postive changes in behavioral things and emotional/personality things that out weigh some of these more " minor " physical things as we start up on this. We probably went through the inro phase too quickly, as I thought we were all " pretty healthy " comparitively. We're hovering in stage 2 and trying some stage 3 foods. Everyone else seems to be tolerating this quite well. I'm afraid I'm the only whiner in the family. Thanks for being so patient with me. I'm trying to remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint even though every time you begin something new it feels like a sprint. > Jen > Ben 7, ASD > 3, ASD >
