That means someone weighing 130 would need about 34. grams of protein daily to stay healthy. One skinless chicken breast is about 31. grams. Some good sources of protein, other than meat products, are beans, pasta, potatoes, cheese, peas, broccoli, rice, sweetcorn, oats, califlower, tofu, garlic, spinach, soya milk and milk yogurt. There are others, too, but I was limiting my list to those with little or no fat. I personally don't eat any red meat, which is very high in protein. It upsets my system too much and my GI told me to avoid it. I know others that do, but I think the whole idea is to keep our protein consumption within reasonably low limits. I find that I can do this with chicken, turkey, fish and those other sources I mentioned above. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth - SC hhessgriffeth@... Guest guest
My 15 month old has now been on SCD for about 2 weeks and we are seeing good things--increase in appetite, happier, etc. She is currently eating pureed pears, pureed green beans, chicken broth and pureed chicken. We tried avocados but I'm thinking she may be having a bad reaction to them. She's constipated again so we increased the magnesium but now she is really gassy, which has happened in the past when we increased the magnesium. I'm concerned she is consuming too much of the pears but I'm having trouble getting her on something else--any suggestions? We are waiting for the IgG's and IgE's to come back--hopefully next Wednesday so we can expand her diet. She's still now chewing--don't ask me why???? I am afraid to do nuts or eggs until we get the allergy results back, my family history has some anaphylactic reactions. Thanks!
