Guest guest
I'm so glad to see you in and out and back online in what must be record time. You sound great and your hubby sounds like a prince!!! Welcome to the other side - - Praise God. (and Dr R too!) Take it easy and you are on the way!!! Shari/No Calif 's BAAACCCCKKKK!!! Hi guys, Thanks for all the prayers and support. I could really " feel " it throughout this process. I got home this morning at 9:30 about 25 hours after checking in at Durham Regional. Dr. R was fantastic, I did get to see him before surgery and again this morning. Short, sweet to the point, but wonderful. I don't remember ANYTHING about OR, so I was fully out before I got there. When I woke up I was amazed I wasn't in more pain. I was uncomfortable and afraid it would get worse, but it really wasn't all that bad. The gas pain, didn't feel like what I was expecting. I felt bloated, like I had just drunk 16 cokes instead of like I needed to go to the bathroom. It was great to have Tony so near by. He was a saint. He waited on me hand and foot, without even being asked. If I reached for a cup, he had it to my lips before I could even touch it. He was wonderful!!! Sometimes, it seems he tries to help the way he likes to be helped, but we couldn't have been more in tune. I think he was more afraid than he admitted. I am still very sleepy, but it feels better to get up and walk around. I met Annette and , both were in some pain, but feeling much better when I saw them around 11pm. I didn't get to meet from WV or Sue from Ashboro although I did look for them. They must have been on another floor or wing than I. I expected to feel worse after surgery, so I was pleasantly surprised. The nurses were absolutely wonderful, not once did I feel like someone thought, oh great, I get the fat lady to take care of . They all went out of their way to be kind, helpful and just generally wonderful. When I met , one of my first nurses, I said, " OH, I 've heard great things about you! " He nearly fell over. He was shocked but pleased to know that the group shares alot of information with each other. He also told me that had been his patient and that it broke his heart when he learned she had died. He said, he thought he was going to be ill. He had to leave the floor for awhile. Guess she just touched everyone who met her. The hypnosis was really great and when I feel a little more awake, I will describe in detail what I did for those who are interested in trying it. I was cool as a cucumber. I don't know if Tony mentioned it or not, but we had a FLAT TIRE on the way to the hospital. The tire has had a leak for awhile. Ordinarily, I would have gone wild, seen it as a sign from God, the whole works. But I kept thinking, well God, if this is suppose to be a sign, you need to make it a little stronger because I am still calm and full speed ahead. I called the hospital to tell them what was going on, my dear Tony, laid down on the cement and changed it. We have a Ford Expedition, so he practically had to crawl under it to get the jack where it was suppose to go. That was a little un-nerving. The jack had a warning that said never get under a car supported by this jack and the directions on how to change the tire told you to put the jack on the axel about 3 FEET from the edge of the car. Unless Jack walked, I am not sure how you could do it without getting under the car. (WHAT A MAN!!!!) and we were on our way. We arrive 30 minutes late. Now the funny thing is the spare tire went flat, as soon as we got home today. SO Tony has been out buying new tires and getting medicine for me today!!! Totally different problem, but same position. Geeze!!! Genz, your bed is vacant and waiting for you. Love to all. More later! Safe journey, MGB 03 MAY 00 Safely on the other side!!!!
