It's not an immediate reaction. Sometimes it can take a few days to soften

the stool, that's basically what it is, a stool softener. I used to go to

Dr. Ken Bock in Rhinebeck, NY. He's a DAN doctor but also a specialist in

boosting the immune system naturally. His recommendation for my constipated

3 year old (at the time) was 1000 mg of vitamin C broken in half doses, 500

mg with breakfast, 500 mg with dinner. Also in the mix was a liquid

calcium/mag. Kirkman's has scd legal powders of each. You should give half

doses of those with breakfast and dinner as well. Another supplement he

gave us that I think is great is Thorne Research Citramin II. It's a

multi-mineral supplement containing potassium, molybdenum, chromium,

selenium and zinc as well as a few other minerals. Molybdenum helps

alleviate sensitivity to salicylates, potassium is important for the cal/mag

ratios, and selenium and zinc are important in metal detoxification.

I just did the 1/2 hour protocol for 3 days. It obviously was

interrupted at times in the evening with not being in the house but

It was moving him. The Cal/mag is in the Allergy Buffered Vit c. That

was why I was checking should it be pure vit c with nothing added.

I have been doing the prune and orange protocol for 3 mornings now

and had introduced a little yogurt and he had 3 tropies yesterday and

one today so things might be getting regular again. But I would still

like to know about the Vit c type?

Thanks

By the way Cindy, once your child starts having regular bowel movements, the

c/cal/mag can begin to make the bms extremely loose. At that point, you

have to play around and adjust dosages of each. Probably start with

reducing the vitamin c to 250-500 mg per day and if that doesn't work,

reduce the magnesium. If your child becomes constipated again, you probably

went too low.
