Guest guest
I agree with . I wanted to ask my dh doctor husband about this and he told me that medicaid would pay very little towards this operation....not a $500 difference.....a much larger difference..... Medicaid pays nothing. We have a friend that will work 6 hours in the hospital, who a Dr, who got paid $17 for saving aperson with kidney failure. That's not even minimum wage! Many times my husband isn't paid enough to pay his nurses, the lab for the EKG....he looses money on many patients. My husband sees lots of patients for free, many immigrant patients who are here without status. Together we work hard at getting hospitals to 'donate' services for an immigrant from Liberia. Hopsitals are more than happy to do it. Much depends on the need, and the budget to help patients who cannot pay. I know that we don't have enough nurses here in NC, so I found this note very confusing......get a job nursing, and good insurance (other than Partners) and she could have gotten the surgery paid for. Also, in medicine, prices, insurance codes, what insurance will and will not accept are constantly changing! It's a pain! Dede
