Guest guest
Donna, This is the easiest way to make SCD bread. Find a glass container that will fit inside the slow cooker. Pour some nut flour into the glass container and add enough eggs to moisten it. Then just put it in the slow cooker. Put it on high if you need it to be done in a shorter time. Turn it off when it smells good. LOL This is how I make it but you can make it more fancy: You might add honey, grated apples,vanilla.... (crushed nut or raisins for advanced SCD) There is no need to buy ready made food. Guest guest
Clarification: You bake it inside the glass container. The glass container goes inside the slow cooker. I suppose that you might put parchment paper inside the slow cooker if you did not want to use the glass container. > > This is the easiest way to make SCD bread. Guest guest
Hi, Can you also bake this bread in the oven & if so at what temp? How many eggs per qty of flour & what consistency should the mixture be? Excuse my pedantics, but nut flour in my country costs R73.00 per kg, so I can't afford to waste. Thanks > Clarification: > > You bake it inside the glass container. Guest guest
, I never measured. I tried different consistencies and it always came out OK. I put it on high and it was fine,I put it on low and it was different but still tasty. I think that it is hard to make mistakes when baking with nut flours. Baking with nut flours is fun;the only mistake is burning the stuff. I would bake it at 250 F Mimi > > Clarification: > > > > You bake it inside the glass container. Guest guest
Mimi, Can you explain to me better how you are cooking bread in a Slow Cooker. Are you talking about a crock pot? Mine is round. I can't picture how you do this. If you put a glass container in it will it not break. Also, just nut flour and eggs? What about the baking soda, salt, and honey in the BTVC recipe? Marilyn daughter Kim, age 20 SCD since April P.S. I personally use Pampered Chef stoneware and love the way it turns out, but if I was going somewhere and could stick it in a crockpot where I didn't have to keep an eye on it at times that would be good.
