I am 41 years old and have been on SCD for approximately 10 months. I noticed

my allergies were improving and that I didn't have to take my strong

prescription antihistamine religiously anymore, although, I would still have

problems. (Before SCD, if I missed a dose I would have big problems) I was

eating local honey and doing SCD. Someone on the list serve suggested using a

narial nasal cup to also help. I purchased this and began using it twice daily.

What a difference! I could breathe through my nose easily for the first time in

my life. I was still having to take a daily decongestant and guaifenisen or I

would have trouble and occasionally I would start sneezing again. I then read a

book that suggested no dairy for people who suffered with allergies. So I tried

it. Its been about two months and I do not have to take anything anymore and I

do not have a reaction to outdoor airborne allergies anymore. My allergy to

dogs and cats seem to be less sensitive but still there. I have been telling

everyone because I think this is miraculous!! I have been taking very strong

prescription medications (both nose sprays and pills(everything that came out

until it stopped working)) for ten years and over the counter antihistamines

since I was a teenager. I am also taking MSM daily. I have also suffered with

asthma my entire life. Although, I had become less asthmatic when I moved into

my house that had only hardwood floors. I then only had to take my inhaler

everyone once in a while instead of daily. I am now completely asthma free

unless I am around a cat.

My four year old daughter who is on SCD is allergic to cow's milk. If she has

any cheese, yogurt, butter or even ghee from cow's milk - she immediately gets a

terrible runny, stuffy nose. I was recently trying to use ghee and it did not

work. She got a reaction. So I am not going to use it anymore. She does not

react to goat's milk cheeses and yogurt. I tell you this because even though

your child may have bad allergies, you may not have to eliminate all dairy like

me.

I just wanted to share my journey to no more meds for allergies in case it may

help someone. Good Luck, Eileen Brown
