Just a warning to others, I think this is very dangerous. Make sure you

understand why before doing trying this at home! I think aside from the

'presure' they also can cause ulcers.

My . 02 cents -

Last statistic I heard, 5 out of 10 marriages end in divorce normally -- so

its just one more -- what I have observed from friends and contacts is that

there are two kinds of husbands when it comes to WLS.

#1 - The one who loves how you feel about your new self, and your new found

confidence.

#2 - The insecure, jealous husband who pushes you away and/or trys to make

you fat again, because he is sure you are gonna leave him once you are thin.

I bet that one additional statistic comes from the latter. I think sometimes

it takes a lot of extra attention and communication to reassure the second

type without it I would like the relationship is doomed!!!!

I have read a lot of profiles of people having WLS that had young children

that indicte before surgery they wrote letters to their children (just in

case) - has anyone done this? I would have no idea where to start and would

be terrified of doing so. I guess you just write from the heart - just

thinking about it I am crying!!!

, You should have a plan for your children! I have a letter to each of

my children not only about how much I love them and who I want them to live

with if something where to happen to both of their parents but also standards

and goals I expect them to strive towards, and answers to problems we all

endure throughout life.

I also have a family history for them to keep, And instructions on life

insurance, college funds.etc...And of course our burial wishes (for an

adult). This might sound excessive, but if you have ever a friend or family

member that has past on with no instructions for their children or their

burial it is devastating, on top of the morning.

IM kinda of strange anyway.lol I write a letter to my son in the back of his

year book every year, I include all his achievements and happenings that

someday he will want to remember. sorry for RAMBLING sorry

Hi, I haven't posted for awhile. I'm 2 & 1/2 wks. out from my 2nd abdominal

surgery in a month. Hope that's it for awhile. The Obesity.com magazine is

wonderful! I do not regret ordering it. I'm wondering.... have many of you had a

body lift? If so, were you pleased & any good surgeon recommendations in the

western NC or SC area? Any advice on this? How much loose skin was removed? How

long to heal? Any known good web sites on it? Would appreciate input. Yes, I've

briefly skimmed through E-mails as I deleted E-mail for space & I was saddened

to see more " written spats " & I wondered why we can't all try to be

understanding of each other & our differences.... we've all suffered with

obesity- or most of us have. We all have our ghosts & we all try to deal with

our " " demons " as the comfort of overeating is taken away. Again, I wish us all

the best & much growth! (but not pounds wise!)

I am new here and I hope I don't offend you by asking this question because that

is not my intention. Why did you have to do 2 surgeries? Were they

complications? I am still in the learning phase and am trying to decide on

having the surgery. If it is to personal, I understand.

Thanks

Angie
