Guest guest
She is still fighting nausea. I'm back with an update on my wife. She had her surgery on 14 July. She was readmitted Saturday the 23 Aug. For the second time for severe nausea. They stretched her esophagus for the second time, but to no avail. She still has the nausea. Their NEW ideal is to treat her by giving her Velum (the nerve medicine) every few hours so that will keep her sedated. They want to give her body a break and see if it will interrupt the nausea. Basically the way I understand it is they are going to keep her asleep for about 2 days. Supposedly this will trick her body back into thinking everything is okay. Sounds absurd, but right now they have no other reasons as to why she is have the sever nausea. My wife has said over and over that she wishes she could take it back. I just keep hoping and praying that it will pass and she will start to fill better. She has lost 50 pounds but at this point she does not even want to discuss that. When she is awake she can't go more than 5 minutes without having dry heaves. Every now and then she actually spits up some potassium, but that is about it. I can tell she is so terribly miserable. Nobody could predict how the surgery would effect her body. It seems right now nobody has a solution. My wife thinks she is in the 1% of the people that die as a result of the surgery. I keep watching the doctors, and at this point they don't seem to worried. When I see them starting to get worried that's when I know we are going to have to consider drastic measures. From all the research that I have been able to find this problem has no solution. Its definitely nothing she is eating. They looked at her surgery and everything looks really good there. The only thing they have found is the esophagus but it really does not make sense to any one why that would be causing the nausea. Thanks for listening and letting me get it off my heart. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences. This surgery is very successful for some people, the only draw back is nobody can guarantee you which category you will fall into. Sincerely, Tammy's Husband
Guest guest
I¡Çm very sorry your wife is having such a hard time. I know that everyone else on the list feels bad about this too. We all have sort of a bond together even though most of us have never met. We¡Çre all very concerned about your wife. Please keep us informed about her health. I pray for God¡Çs healing on her body, and that He will guide the doctors who attend her. Charlotte Re: Digest Number 1293 She is still fighting nausea. I'm back with an update on my wife.
