Hi Ladies,

I spent a really wonderful week with my sister up in Utah this past

week....this is my sister who lost her son last fall, and she needed

some time alone with God as she is still grieving. We had a great time

of bonding and sharing and loving each other in the Lord.

I read a great book I wanted to tell you about....I think PH has also

shared about this author. The book is " The MS Solution " by

Simpson, and she shares how she struggled with multiple sclerosis

symptoms, but made the connection to her hormones and was able to live

totally free of symptoms with the supplementation of all the vital

hormones, such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol and

thyroid.

This is the direction that I think I personally need to go since my

scorpion sting. I am in menopause, and I believe the sting was just an

added burden to my adrenals, which were already struggling through life.

Maybe the sting sent my poor adrenals over the edge. I know they gave

me prednisone in the hospital.

I've decided to give the bio-identical cortisol a try. One of my new

symptoms has been constant tingling in my legs; the other one was a

sense of shaking inside my body. That was so strange. In her book, she

lists this sense of shaking as a sign of adrenal fatigue.

So, my REAL desire is to find a good doctor, get tested and get the

appropriate prescriptions for my hormones. In the meantime, I've

purchased all of the bio-identicals on the internet and stashed them

over the years " just in case " , and will do low dose trial therapy to see

how I feel. I've heard privately from several people that have done the

bio-identical cortisol, and they said it made them feel wonderful. I

hope I get the same results!

My weight has now become an issue for me. I turn 50 in the next month,

and I'm NOT HAPPY with my weight! It just slowly climbs a few pounds,

year after year after year. With all of the reading I've done on

bioidentical hormones, I think I can turn that around with not only diet

and exercise, but getting my hormone levels where they used to be when I

was young and skinny and healthy.

I hope you all are doing well....I've thought of everyone so often while

I was up in Utah, and will be responding to letters as soon as I am

caught up on my work.

God bless you, every one of you!

Patty

Welcome back Patty:

We were lost without you, because I am not in the know regarding good plastic surgeons there. I am happy that you spent some time with your loved ones. You must take time to have some time with your family...more later.

Thank you for your kind words...love you....Lea

Hi gg,

I bought CORTEF online, so, if you do a search for " Buy Cortef " , you should find

some websites that you can look through. I thought I had the link I used at my

fingertips, but after doing a quick search through my links, I couldn't find the

one that I used to order it.

I do know that the product came from Merck Sharp and Dohme in England, and it is

called Hydrocortone. It is 10 mg.

Hope that helps!

Patty

I have been searching to buy Cortef on line but can't find any that will ship to

the U.S. I cannot find the one Patty mentioned....

If anyone finds a site that will sell Cortef without a prescription, can you

please let me know. My adrenals test insufficient, but I haven't found a doc to

write the Cortef script.

Thanks,

hi patty;

thanks for the info. on this, but from what i read this drug is cortisone, or steriod. it would then have side effects. id hesitate to take it unless i was in dire need, as i dont like taking drugs unless absolutely necessary. isnt there an herb or something else more natural? i know they have something i took a while back for adrenal just called cortisol. havent used it in awhile \tho. wondering if the fact that this is a steroid bothers you.

thanks.

Hi GG,

Cortef is bio-identical cortisol. It is the hormone that your adrenals produce.

It used to bother me that it was a steroid, but I've done enough reading about

the use of bio-identical hormones to know that at low doses, it is not a

horrible drug (though I feel that prednisone is, because it is synthetic.) I

hate drugs too, and have not used them for the majority of my healing process.

However, I firmly believe that bio-identical hormones may be necessary for some

women to get better. I've just seen enough women struggle after doing all the

of the detoxing and supplements and not getting better to know and understand

that if the hormones are missing, you can do all the detoxing you want and you

may never get better if a piece of the puzzle remains missing. If you need

hormones, you just need hormones and nothing else is going to help you feel

better until those are replaced at appropriate doses.

Cortef is regarded as a safe hormone to replace in small physiological doses

(less than 20 mg a day) for those who need adrenal support. You can research

this on the net and there is a book written by

The only other natural supplement for the adrenals is a product called Isocort:

Standardized Adrenal Cortical Extract. It is standardized to contain 2.5 mg of

cortisol per pellet. I've used that at the advice of my naturopath. You can

give it a try...it's fairly cheap.

Oops! His name is Dr. Jefferies, and he is an expert on subclinical

adrenal insufficiency. He has a book called " Safe Uses of Cortisol. "
