I don't have any answers, since we're still close to a year away, in the best case scenario, to think of weaning off SCD. When it gets tough for my son (13 y.o., dx with Crohns earlier in the summer) I remind him that even if we would stop SCD early, it wouldn't be business as usual nutrition-wise. There's a very slow and calculated way of introducing new foods. Did you see Grammy Bauer's invitation to set up SCD pals? Maybe you can ask for someone who can guide you in this process. What dose of Imuran was he on? I've been resisting Imuran, hoping that prednisone, Pentasa, and SCD would be enough. It very well may be enough because of the great progress my son's made, but my GI is still very reluctant to stop prednisone without Imuran on board. From what I've been able to find out Imuran may not be as bad as the hype says but I am worried about his immune system. The dr. suggested multi vitamin, handwashing, and flu shot (which might be interesting to discuss since I fully appreciate the vaccine issue. Were I to have more children, I might consider vaccinating but only after the immune system is better developed and NEVER the multiple shots I subjected my kids too.). It is almost impossible to tell the finished lasagna from one with grain flour pasta. Carol F. (the other Carol) SCD 5 years, celiac
