Guest guest
Kroger doesn't sound familiar to me in this area. Where are you? I am moving to the East Coast in June. Is this an East Coast store? When you make sausage do you buy loose meat from the butcher? How do you get it to stay in a log formation without the casing? Sorry, this diet forces me to tap into a creativity that is non-existent in myself. My poor kids, lol! Re: Legal Bacon and sausage? , I'm not sure whether you have Kroger where you live, but in our health food section of Kroger there is bacon that is just pork and salt. No sweeteners, no preservatives. It's in the frozen case with the " health food " pizzas, etc. Since it has no preservatives, it's kept in the freezer. As for sausage, I just make my own with a recipe that someone posted to the list. It's fabulous! I'll try to post it soon. You can use ground turkey, chicken or pork to make it. YUM! Guest guest
We are in Portsmouth, VA and we have Kroger here - it's a very nice grocery store, but can be pricey, but have good sales each week. They have an extensive organic/health food section with it's own refrigeratoed/freezer department. We were able to get Almond Flour on sale for the holidays for $7.99 1lb bag. My daughter is fortunate to have a Kroger in onburg where she attends college. Finally found Farmer's Cheese (DCCC) in my local BJ's!!! Guest guest
I live in Indiana. I don't know if Kroger is on the East Coast or not. The next time I go to Kroger, I'll write down the brand name and contact info. Maybe one of your local stores can just order it for you. As for the sausage, I don't make it into logs, I just make it into small sausage patties or brown it like hamburger and use it in italian dishes (like spaghetti and pizza). And if you want the casing type, you can get empty casings from a real butcher and make them yourself. I believe that you can also order the casings online. Guest guest
You can go to www.dillons.com (same as kroger) and they have a store locator. Just put in your state and town and it will tell you if there is one near you. > > I live in Indiana. I don't know if Kroger is on the East Coast or > not.
