However, any hormone that you supplement with, whether it be natural or synthetic, literally takes over for your organs. It puts back what you may be missing. But it does nothing for the lack of hormones that your body is " lacking in producing " . This goes for all the knew bioidentical talk , ie Suzanne Somers and all the rave. It is true that you will feel better, b/c your body is missing these necessary hormones to feel normal and work properly. But your ovaries for instance will still atrophy while on bioidenticals just like they do when you are on the pill or synthetic HRT. > > > > My change in " my plan " is to absolutely give back what I need right now, but also rebuild what is not working properly. I learned alot of this on curezone and Dr talks about this in Adrenal Fatigue The 21st Century Illness. It makes total sense if you really think about it. DR strongly advises on what has been proven to work for individuals to truly heal from adrenal fatigue, and that is the adrenal extracts, glandulars, cortex supplements. Our problems originate in the hypothalamus in the brain. He states that the best therapy can be the combined therapy of glandular support for the hypothalamus, pituitary and gonads without the hormones....and for the worst cases add the hormones, or cortef. > > > > I can tell you that cortef by itself, while wonderful, was not enough for me. But I was always that type A personality, go go go and go, worked in NYC, went to school at night, drank coffee all day long, and go go go go. Athletic, non-stop energy. I have totally lost all energy function from my implant rupture. It has been a struggle for me as Patty knows, but it does not matter what level of fatigue you are at, the glandulars and the vit c support are the mainstay of healing from the bottom up. Cortef will give you support along the way. And I did need it. I am reducing my dosage already and feeling my own adrenals kicking in. I just hope it stays!! But I am also increasing my adrenal supplements as I decrease cortef, this has been a godsend to me...if I did not know that I think I would be feeling that big huge crash feeling and I am not. >
