Guest guest
Hi Mom2mc, Welcome to the list! I want to clarify that many children have gotten fantastic results with dairy free SCD. Here is the story of one mother who recovered her daughter on SCD without any dairy. http://hometown.aol.com/hopeforautism33/myhomepage/index.html Most of the recipes from www.pecanbread.com are dairy free and we have a section on how to convert recipes that do contain dairy in another section of our website. We give plenty of support to parents who want to remain CF. However, your child's progress might double if you use the goat yogurt; it certainly is worth trying! Below is a link to a post I wrote about the safety of the goat yogurt: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/37981 There is a small percentage of children who MUST get fermented foods in order to recover. We also have the option of using nut yogurt and sauerkraut for getting the benefit of fermented foods. During the first weeks of SCD,you do not need to add those foods. Just concentrate on getting rid of those awful starches and sugars; you will be thrilled with the results.
