Avoid herbal teas as they can be laxative. peppermint and spearmint are the

exception. I

use weak Orange Pekoe and other conventional teas, always weak. No Rooibus

(popular in

South Africa) I belive green tea is legal.

Bagged tea is fine.

Jodi is sometimes sensitive to things that others are

not.

Bagged tea is just fine... Jodi is just exceptionally sensitive and has

had to take things to an even more stringent level than most of

us.

<g> I'd be doomed without my hot tea!

Hi n,

GAPS stand for " Gut and Psychology Syndrome "

A book by Dr Natasha McBride in the UK.

She based her GAPS protocol on the SCD with some tweaks and add ons.

Some of these tweaks are illegal for us like using ferments early on in the

diet, using a multi strain probiotic that contains illegal bacteria including

bifidus and the filler non-GMO maltodextrin (as a prebiotic)

She has an interesting intro protocol. On GAPS people are dairy free and

candida trigger food free from the get go.. Usually about 6 months or so. Then

one can intro these things.

Keep in mind though NCM comes more from teh Neuro side of things.. so some of

her " general suggestions " are lacking for IBD'ers ALTHOUGH I have seen that they

modify some of the program for IBD'ers.

It is a great book.. It answered many of my questions and she gives a Shout out

to Elaine. Some of what she addresses are the ideas about gut dysbiosis,

chronic ear issues.. how the gut and brain are connected.. the mechanism for

ASD kids..

I loved the book.

I also loved her book about heart disease and this whole cholesterol and fat

being the devil is ridiculous!

Jodi
