Guest guest
Hi Crystal, No, it isn't a good idea to have a limited food item for every meal for an extended period of time. How long has your son been on the diet? What did he eat before the diet? Did you try to start with the intro diet? Does he not like certain textures etc.? Maybe we can help with suggestions. Sheila, SCD 55 mos, 21 yrs UC mom of , SCD 40 mos > My son refuses to eat most everything he is allowed to eat on this > diet. I can only get him to eat Almond flour pancakes from a recipe > in " cooking to heal little tummies " . Is it fine for him to eat the > same thing for breakfast lunch and dinner? Guest guest
He won't eat anything except bread textures for instance the pancake and muffin recipes. That's it. Before the diet we were GFCF and all he ate were GFCF pancakes and homemade pizzas. He refuses pizza now that I can't put soy cheese on it and won't eat anything but the almond flour pancakes and sometimes the almond flour muffins. He is on TONS of vitamins and supplements so he's getting most of his nutrition that way. Basically his sensory issues are so bad that once a week he may taste of something new like 1 bite of grilled chicken but then he screams and spits it out and goes back to bread based. -Crystal > Hi Crystal, > > No, it isn't a good idea to have a limited food item for every meal > for an extended period of time. > How long has your son been on the diet? > > What did he eat before the diet? Guest guest
> What exactly is the intro diet? Sorry if this is a dumb question! > > > The " intro diet " is pared down to include very digesitible foods. It should be followed for a few days to " clear the decks " before introducing other foods gradually. It appears in the book, " Breaking the Vicious Cycle, " which is the " bible " for this diet and is outlined on page 69 in the 10th edition of the book. It also aopears on the Pecanbread Website in the slightly modified version for autism: http://www.pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#intro Carol F.
