Guest guest
hi patty; am a little confused, but it sounds like you had trouble AFTER the root canal also. sound s like the dentist didnt get all of the infection. i have quite a few root canals, but have never had trouble after the fact, so thats why i was curious about you, tho ive heard of people who have.ive heard both pro and con on doing them, so i guess unless i run into major problems, i wont have them pulled. i dont like partials, and dont trust the material in implants either, as to what i see to be the alternative, what do you have? ive also found that if a tooth does start to hurt, be sure to keep hot and cold off it and sometimes holding warm water in the mouth for a period of time can prevent the tooth from hurting, and hopefully dying. sometimes not, but ive found this works most of the time. the main thing tho to prevent the tooth from dying (and infecting) is to keep hot and cold off. everyone today drinks ice water at times, esp. restaurants, and it just isnt that good for sensitive teeth, or maybe teeth in general. gg Re: silver fillings GG,Yes, I was told I needed a root canal. I saw the endodontist and spent $2000 getting two root canals!!!!!! I was so sick spending that money and then only having to throw it away. The endodontist put me on a heavy duty antibiotic--Cipro? I cannot remember the name but I am pretty sure it started with a C and I know it was considered the big guns, so I am quite certain that the infection was a nasty one. My tooth hurt so bad, I was eating Ibuprofen like candy before my root canals. (And I never take that stuff.) It was awful. But when my knee started giving my trouble and my holistic dentist (who does not do root canals) offered the book by Dr. Meinig ("Root Canal Coverup"), that's when I decided the root canals had to go.It was the right choice, as my knee cleared up immediately.Pattyhi patty;am wondering why you had teeth pulled - did they need a root canal? or do you not do root canals? also, did the infection show up on a dental x-ray?thanks.gg

Guest guest
GG,The endodontist definitely got all of the infection...my teeth didn't hurt or anything. It was the start of the knee trouble that concerned me because there was no explanation, until I read the book "Root Canal CoverUp", and actually before that I had read the book by Dr. Hal Huggins "It's All In Your Head", and "Uninformed Consent". I actually was very much vascilating about getting the root canal to begin with, but with pulling the teeth the only other option, I chose to get them and prayed for it all to work out. Most people will not make a connection between the root canals and other health problems (just like we don't originally make a connection between our implants and our health problems). I surely wish the science surrounding all of our health issues was more exact, but the truth is that there are still many, many mysteries in the medical world. Dental issues are even more mysterious, and I don't think we've begun to count the cost of dental problems. I have a partial. It slips in and out very easy, so I don't have any objections to it. I'm fine with it. The only thing I'm concerned about is if I ever have more dental issues with other molars...then I will have to do something again, maybe a new partial. But I'm hoping I never have to go through it again! Dental implants are pretty much out fo rme.....I have found oil pulling to be very effective for good dental health. I think my partial has increased the amount of bacteria that I have to worry about in my mouth. Thanks for the tips on saving a tooth. I will definitely keep those in mind!Patty Re: Re: silver fillings hi patty; am a little confused, but it sounds like you had trouble AFTER the root canal also. sound s like the dentist didnt get all of the infection. i have quite a few root canals, but have never had trouble after the fact, so thats why i was curious about you, tho ive heard of people who have.ive heard both pro and con on doing them, so i guess unless i run into major problems, i wont have them pulled. i dont like partials, and dont trust the material in implants either, as to what i see to be the alternative, what do you have? ive also found that if a tooth does start to hurt, be sure to keep hot and cold off it and sometimes holding warm water in the mouth for a period of time can prevent the tooth from hurting, and hopefully dying. sometimes not, but ive found this works most of the time. the main thing tho to prevent the tooth from dying (and infecting) is to keep hot and cold off. everyone today drinks ice water at times, esp. restaurants, and it just isnt that good for sensitive teeth, or maybe teeth in general. gg
Guest guest
Hi Lesley, I apologize for not getting back to you right away...did you continue with your detox? It doesn't sound like your detox involved any specific therapies, such as a liver flush, coffee enema, fasting...just a change in foods? If it was only a change in foods, then it sounds like you are really toxic, or else eating something that you may be allergic to. But I do wonder about another important aspect of your pain source...have you considered hormones? Are you anywhere near menopause? Have you had any trouble with your menses, or with stress? Pain can be very tied into hormones. This could explain the sudden appearance of symptoms again, but infection could also be involved. Are you fighting any subclinical infections with herbs or raw garlic? I believe it is important for those of us who have had immune system issues to be on DAILY immune support, to help fight off viruses, bacteria and fungus. One of the first things you have to do in order to get better is to get those subclinical infections under control to give your immune system a good chance to heal. Let us know how you are doing Lesley...I hope you are doing better by now.
