Any > assistance would be greatly appreciated. The process if different for every person. It largely depends on your insurance company. The FIRST thing you should do is fill out the patient information form and send it in over the internet. Do it in third person. This has to happen to get the insurance ball rolling. It may take Dr. R's office a while to file because sometimes they get behind, but some go very quickly. Then once Dr/ R's office has filed, it just depends on your company , some are very quick, like a week and some are painfully slow like months. Hopefully you will get a quick YES!! Then you can work on the other items at one time . Dr. R usually isn't the problem, it is gettin medical records, scheduleing the necessary appointments and getting the tests results that takes the time, so you are already on your way! Best of luck to you! Guest guest
It was a very difficult thing to do. The insurance had denied the surgery because there is in exclusion in my policy that states, It will not cover any type of weight loss, or exercise program whether it is obesity or not, Unless it were for life sustaining reasons. The way the insurance policy listed it, was as obesity augmentation, which I believe to be enlargement also. Seems repetitive to me.(?) I have mailed Dr R but he has not responded yet, I want to know what it means also. The union told me that after meeting me that they agree I need this surgery for life sustaining purposes and would approve it as long as it is resubmitted and reworded. GO Figure!!! Anyway I have high hopes right now, just waiting to hear from Dr R. Looking forward to being able to LIVE!!!! Jan
Guest guest
Jan, He probably hasn't responded because he is reading all those packets. I'm starting to think we should buy stock in FedEX. It seems the best way to go. My daughter sent my packet for me. They suggested it be sent another way as it would be cheaper. She told them, " NO, this has to be there tomorrow morning. " How's that for support? Well I hope you get the correct wording soon and everything moves quickly for you. Love, Darlene
