Guest guest
We got home late last night from Cincinnati. We were attending my father-in-laws funeral. It was sad, but a huge relief as he died from Altzheimers. , I had very little time, but I did try to call you once; you were working. It seemed the phone rang (at my mother in laws) 24 hours a day, and I felt guilty calling anyone. We got another call everytime I did! I had a very tough time with food. I still haven't been hungry, but I DID want to eat. Food was everywhere. I started eating about 10 days post op. Wouldn't recommend it, but I did. The good news is that I THOUGHT everything would taste better than it did, so I have been satisfied with just a taste or two. I haven't had too much trouble wanting sweets. They look good, but were able to be resisted. It is FOOD that I want. I ate some baked beans one day. They were ok at first, and then got stuck. I have eaten somethings with success and made myself sick several times. I only threw up once, but have PRAYED to throw up on other ocassions. Really stupid. At the end of the first week I had lost 10 lbs. today 8 lbs. Since I have 200 to lose, I am amazed that I am not losing well. VERY UPSETTING. Even with eating, I was NOT eating very much. I am going to start exercising on Monday. Hopefully that will help. It is hard to eat more than a few bites, but I am amazed with the process. One day, something will be fine, the next day the same food will feel stuck. It is by the grace of God that I have not ripped something open! Mainly, I have been " tasting " things, I really can't eat very much. The one thing I did eat was a taco salad, took hours, but I did eat a small taco salad. Can you imagine I didn't really have too much trouble with it. Anything bread is a problem. Hard things are better than soft things. Anyway, I am back home, looking forward to a smootie this morning! Glad to hear of all the surgery dates etc. I skimmed the digest, just couldn't read them all. Amy, how is your Mom? She has been in my prayers. If I missed something really important, someone email me privately! Got to run for now. Love to all. Safe journey, MGB 03 MAY 00 Safely on the other side!!!!
