Remember at first we seed, peel and cook fruits and veggies. Juice must be diluted as the natural sugar is concentrated. Some juicers have attachments which can be used for making sherbet and nut butters. This is the case with the Omega 8002. (I also put pecans and pitted dates in the food cone, add honey to the paste and roll this into delicious truffles.) Make sure to include non juiced things in the diet for fiber. Carol F. Guest guest
Hi , Juicing is fine for SCDers, but if you have diarrhea you may want to wait 'til it clears up. And the juice should be diluted: Here are two Lyris posts Elaine wrote on juicing (before we moved to Pecanbread) " Juicing is wonderful and you certainly don't have to cook the veggies before juicing. However, I have always been afraid that children with diarrhea might not do well at the beginning of the diet inasmuch as some of these greens could aggravate the diarrhea. But go slowly and try it out. " " No, you do not have to cook the fruit if you are juicing it. However, I would dilute the fruit juices for about one month into the diet. Also, do not use a juicer which allows the pulp to get through. " Sheila, SCD 57 mos, 21 yrs UC mom of , SCD 42 mos > > What do you think about juicing?
