Guest guest
Theresa, First of all - the ASBS won't be able to stop him from performing the MGB - the billroth loop (did I get thet right folks?) has been around for about a century. I do believe that it would take a government decision (like the FDA) to stop him from doing the MGB (and that is highly unlikely). I am sure his competition would like to be able to do that but they can't. What he is doing is presenting his results - some of fellow surgeons don't believe that Doc. R. can get the results he does (faster, better and cheaper - not like NASA, Doc R. is successful). Hopefully he will get some surgeons interested in what he is doing so they will be interested in learning. He will also recieve a lot of flack. Medicine, like all the sciences is a very conservative field and major breakthroughs are usually held quite cynically until the evidence is overwhelmingly in its favor. (I know, I work with a bunch of Physicists, oy!) As Doc R. always tells me, " relax. " -Ginny Ivanoff mgb: 3/1/00 348/
