Guest guest
Hello, Well, I am now 16 days post op and I am experimenting with eating different foods. We went to a buffet yesterday and I had 2 bites of salad, 2 bites of mashed potatoes, very little pulled beef, 2 bites of watermelon and a few bites of Jell-O and I was full. I've found that eating is very uncomfortable. It just feel strange. It's like you can feel the food through it's whole path to your tummy. Does anyone else feel this too? I see all this food and think " gee, I'm gonna chow down " and when it comes down to it, I can only eat several bites. It's frustrating at times. Although I can tolerate everything that I've eaten so far. I'm still wondering if this is good or bad. I do want to drink and drink and drink, but I know I can't, it just doesn't seem like I get enough to drink. I am always thirsty. I was a big water drinker before the MGB and wish at times I could guzzle it down still. My port holes have all healed nicely. I had 2 blister/tape burns for several days and those have went away. You can hardly see where the ports where. I didn't use anything on them either. I just let them heal naturally. I started my vitamins and actigall Friday. It feels like by the time I take all my meds and vitamins there isn't enough room left for food. I guess this is a good thing too. The only thing that I have found to taste any different is pop. I'll stick my tongue in the kids pop every once in a while and it just doesn't taste right. Even Dr Pepper, which I was a huge fan of before surgery. If anyone has any question's feel free to contact me. Play nice and stay safe. Best, Joanne In, TN 06/09/00 - 225 06/25/00 - 202 Safely on the other side. Guest guest
Hi Flo, I am sorry I missed you when you were in Mathews before your surgery. I was finishing out school and getting ready to take a class at the same time. Please let me know when you plan to return if you do this summer. I'd like to get together even if it is to watch others eat ice cream at High's!! I wanted to comment about feeling like you can follow your food all the way down. I do too!! Sometimes I can hear my stomach growling and it sounds louder than it did when I had a whole stomach. Anyway, it has been 4 weeks today since my MGB and I've lost 28 lbs. I am extremely happy. Hope you are well and doing great too. Sandy from Gloucester Re: Re: Eating Post Op > Hi Joanne: I was telling Amy just last night that I can feel the food > all the way down too!
