Guest guest
Dear Holly, Pam in NC here. I too had an open gall bladder surgery and hysterectomy after a tubal ligation. The gall bladder incision is long and angles from above my belly button in a \ shape. Dr R had no problems doing my surgery and found very little scar tissue and none that interferred. Based on what I've read since my surgery way back in Jan of 1999, is that with some previous surgeries and even some heavy scarring (I guess depending on where it is) he can still perform the operation but it may take longer than " average " . Hope this helps. Dr. R is really the best source and sometimes he just has to see for himself at a clinic visit. So far I don't think there has been anyone who couldn't have the surgery because of scar tissue...just longer operating times. Our dear Dr. is very methodical and will take as much time as is necessary based on each patient's situation.
