Guest guest
Hi everyone! Well, I made it through!!! Had the surgery earlier than expected on Tuesday - I was scheduled for 4pm but went in at 2:30pm. It took 1 1/2 hours because of an enlarged liver, but everything else went smoothly. When I woke up in recovery I felt really nauseous and in a lot of pain from the gas. I never did throw up and the nausia (sp?) went away with the phenergan. The gas pain lasted for quite a while, but demoral and walking helped quite a bit. I didn't sleep much last night, spent most of the night in a recliner - don't forget to get one in your room coz they're great - and slept on and off in between vital checks and pain shots. Didn't need the pain pump, but they offered it if I needed it. All of the nurses and aides were wonderful and so helpful. They brought me some juice and crackers and they both went down fine. Been sipping on juice most of the day and no more nausea. I'm still a bit sore - breathing deeply still hurts on my sides but with time that should diminish. My incisions were changed at the hospital and they advised that I wait a few days to take a shower so they will heal better. I was able to meet and her husband. She wasn't doing as well and told me this morning she was staying another night. The nurses told me their were 6 patients on the floor that day. I tried to find , but the rooms weren't marked very well as far as who was in which room so I gave up. Well, gotta go take some more Carafate! in WV MGB 5/3/
