Guest guest
Hi , I like Gotu Kola. It makes me feel more alert and mentally sharp. I use the liquid form and take about 1/4 of the recommended daily dose because it can also raise your blood pressure.
Guest guest
I think the brain fog has to be the worse! This is how I really started suspecting I had candida. I am still so focused on how to help my son that I tend to not worry about how to help me at the moment. The brain fog makes it so hard to focus on what people are saying and mostly listening to my children. I feel bad when I have to ask them to repeat what they said because I can't comprehend what is coming out of thier mouths! A funny note though is when I first started getting brain fog I thought it was because I had not been reading/learning adult things. I am so focused on teaching my children that I am learning what they learn. I thought I was slipping in my mental abilities! LOL. The more I learned about candida, the more I realized that that was what was causing this " foggy " feeling, not my lack of adult learning! penny martin <penelopea@...> wrote: Whew - you aren't kidding about the brain fog. I once read that niacin helps - is that true? ==>a, some people need to continue doing the 9-day program for a longer period of time (but after day 9 do clear water enemas only every 4 days). ==>Also you can do this for severe die-off symptoms; found in the " Candida Symptoms, Help For " Folder, in the article " Die-Off Symptoms, Help for " : " When you experience severe die-off reactions, in order to alleviate your symptoms do the following as soon as possible: · Take these all at once, except for 2,000 mgs of vitamin C, which is taken every hour: a. 2 capsules of hydrochloric acid (preferably Betaine HCl with pepsin). b. 4,000 mgs vitamin C is taken immediately, and take 2,000 mgs every hour until symptoms subside or until you reach bowel tolerance (loose stools) and then cut back on the amount taken. c. Vitamin B complex 100 mgs, in addition your daily amount. d. 500 mgs of niacin (if you can stand the flush; if you cannot stand the flush take at least 50 mgs every hour) e. 10,000 IUs vitamin A. f. 400 IUs vitamin D. Note: Vitamins A and D are available in cod liver or halibut liver oil capsules. You can also do the following: · Drink clove, Pau D'Arco, or ginger tea (see the Recipe Files) – Drink 4 to 5 cups within 5-6 hours. They are powerful antioxidants and they will help your body detoxify. · Take baths with Epsom salts or 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide. Baths help draw toxins out through the skin which helps minimize symptoms. Also your body will absorb the magnesium sulphate from Epsom salts which will help soothe and relax aching muscles and joints. Add two cups, or 500 grams, of Epsom salts, and soak for 15- 20 minutes. Use 1/2 cup of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide in 1/2 a bathtub of very warm to hot water – as hot as you can stand it. Lay down, covering yourself with towels soaked in the tub, and which are kept warm by soaking them frequently. Soak in the tub until you sweat. · Ensure you are taking calcium/magnesium according to the Essential Supplement recommendations - they help minimize aches and pains. You can also take 300 mg of magnesium citrate in addition to your daily dose. " Bee

Guest guest
Hi all-excuse my jumping in on this one, especially since I'm new to the group. I too, had trouble with brain fog and it really was bothering me. I spoke to the Dr about it during a physical, and she did a simple test--she asked me to remember 3 words, and then went on with the exam. About 10 minutes later, she asked me to tell her the words, and I couldn't even remember that she had asked me to remember them-yikes!! After a clue, I was able to come up with 2 of the 3. Along with the usual annual blood tests, she also had them test my B12 levels. Yes, you guessed it, they were low. After doing some internet research, I found that many of the symptoms for my pernicious anemia (B12 deficiency) mimic those of hypothyroidism. So along with the levoxyl (and a few others), I also have a B12 injection once a month. When first diagnosed, I had quite a few consecutive days with shots to get the level back to normal. Totally did the trick. Not sure if this is the case with anyone else, but it is something to look into, just in case. Apologies for my longwindedness--good luck, Liz > > I will do that if I find out. > take care > Bev > > > > > > I think it's only about 5% or less of patients who have the many > > symptoms that are not eliminated by T4 alone; although it's a much > > higher percentage on lists such as this. Guest guest
Thanks for the info.. I too was dx-ed low B12 at the same time I was dx-ed hypothyroidism. He said it should be fine but I took it on myself and have taken b12 supplements everyday since 2003 and the docs. have tested it since and it's fine.. unless the b12 supps. are not working and they're just masking the test. take care Bev > Hi all-excuse my jumping in on this one, especially since I'm new to the group. Initially it made me feel dirty, but this is not the case as I came to find out. Everyone needs a healthy balance of parasites. The way I look at parasites; they are bottom feeders in an aquarium. Their needed to clean up the tank . They will eat everything including all the crud. Your tank will be cleaner. Plus it adds more oxygen to the tank. They are your helpers; they are not going to hurt any other fish or ourselves. Many parasites that host us are acceptable to our body. For example, we have a parasite that lives near ones eyelashes, they assist in keeping the tissues clean. If we have a healthy, functioning digestive system, we are harboring millions of beneficial bacteria in the small intestine. They help us achieve in building B vitamins (which many lack), killing harmful bacteria and other destructive parasites. Sometimes we can have an overgrowth of parasites that can be detrimental to our health. These parasites feed off your body's nutrients, leaving you starving for nutrients and more prone to attract disease, such as round worms, flatworms (flukes), tapeworms, and pinworms. The sizes varies they can be microscopic to stretching to 30 feet in length. Hookworm (all in the name) will hook itself to the intestinal walls and live off the host's blood. They also leave behind toxins and cause more labor for the organs to keep your blood and body free from further toxicity. When following any parasite protocol the first that usually comes out is, ascari. It looks like rice and around the same size. Parasites and the overgrowth of yeast (Candida) a destructive organism seem to go hand-in-hand. The yeast gets out of control, and so do parasites. Just as the hulking creature that came out of me, on the 37 day fast. Example: Like your trash can, parasites want to live in polluted areas. When keeping the body's immune system in poor condition, the parasite thrives and reproduces itself in your most unhealthy organs. When taking an antibiotic, some of the beneficial bacteria gets destroyed giving harmful parasites the upper hand advantage. If taking an antibiotic, then make sure to replace the beneficial bacteria in your small intestines before the parasites and yeast takes over. The people I personally know don't have it or at least they don't admit it. And I'm wondering if the people here that have brain fog only have brain fog for their left hemisphere or if they have it in the right hemisphere too or just in the right hemisphere? I've heard on these groups that low thyroid hits the weak parts of the body. This sure makes sense to me. My thryoid took a dive the last several months and a lot of my symptoms have come back so I increased and a lot of them are gone, but the brain fog or at least some of it still remains , BUT, only in left hemispere and I'm left handed , basically living in my right hemisphere, so my art, intuition and things like that are not affected but finding words and solving problems of math or whatever is very difficult.. Is anybody else noticing this same thing? > looking forward to hearing from all > take care > Bev > ------------------------------------
