Thanks in advance!

Homemade bone broths.

They not only contain calcium but other important minerals and

nutrients, as well as gelatin that is excellent for healing the gut.

The best info. on how to make them is in the cookbook " Nourishing

Traditions " . You soak the bones first with a bit of vinegar to draw

out the nutrients.

One of the things that drew me to SCD was the idea, " Let food be your

medicine. " I firmly belive the natural food sources of nutrients are

many times more powerful than supplements because the body is

designed to absorb whole foods... vitamins and minerals with co-

factors.

Now, if only I can get my 2 year old to slurp them down, LOL.

Currently I drown shredded beef/lamb/chicken in their respective

broths and that's the only way he will eat it. They do make the meat

moist and tasty. I reduce the broths by boiling so the minerals are

more concentrated, then freeze as ice cubes.

The joy of seeing your homemade broth gel up really firm in the frig.

is incredible! (means there's lots of gelatin)
