Guest guest
Hello. I am a " rookie " preparing to start my family on SCD in the next day or so. All three of my kids have serious digestive problems and are possibly ASD as well. My baby girl (14 mo.) is the worst off with a severe leaky gut and incredible deficiencies since her digestive tract is such a mess. I have to heal her system as fast I can, and it is critical that I get this right. I want to serve everyone roasted chicken for lunch. The only recipe I have for roasted chicken instructs you to rub a mixture of salt, pepper, thyme, paprika, coconut oil, and garlic over the bird and then slow-cook in a crock pot. Are all of these spices " legal " in the intro. diet? If this is not right, could someone give mean explicit instructions on roasting a " legal " intro. diet bird? Thanks! Trying not to panic, Jeni Lynn, SCD-to-be

Your official start to SCD will be the introduction diet to be followed for from 3-5 days. It includes chicken soup and the boiled chicken can be eaten. please see the instructions for getting started at: http://www.pecanbread.com/foodprep.html Carol F. On pecan bread, it lists roasted chicken as an option. Is this incorrect? > > I certainly don't have to serve roasted chicken if it is questionable, but I would like to do it if it is safe. Otherwise . . . boiled chicken it is! > You can roast your chicken. I just would make it plain for the intro period. later you can make nice rubs with oil or butter, garlic, herbs and unmixed spices.
