Guest guest
Emma, Dairy is used from the very beginning for adult SCDers. The only reason it is not used initially with ASD kids is because so many of them have a previous history of problems with dairy. If your children are not among those with problems with dairy, then you can introduce any legal dairy products at any time you choose. Butter, the allowed cheeses and 24-hour homemade yogurt are all fine for SCD. Elaine has many of the different varieties of cheese listed on her website. So, you can consult that since you have loaned out your book. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info Jody mom to -6 and -9 SCD 32 months

Make sure your butter doesn't list natural flavorings in the ingredients. Take care, Fay

Guest guest
> hi i havent got my book > > are the boys okay to have butter (and cheese) at stage 2? they love chees and ive been melting butter into the beggies and grating some cheddar cheese over the top > > is this okay? > >Emma, It is impossible to mention every food allowed at every stage and I am sorry butter was omitted. Commercial butter is 80–82 percent milk fat, 16–17 percent water, and 1–2 percent milk solids other than fat (sometimes referred to as curd) You could try it very cautiously in a small amount and stop if there is any bad reaction. You might also make ghee which skims off some of those milk solids. http://www.ayurbalance.com/explore_howtosghee.htm Carol F. Guest guest
i use coconut oil in all the recipes calling for butter, and it works great. sue DAgostino lslj@...> wrote: I noticed that many recipes at the pecan bread website use butter.
