What happened after that? I don't remember Judy's story, but the rule of thumb is at least a year after symptoms stop. Then, it still can't be business as usual. It is necessary to gradually ease back into " regular " foods. I put regular in quotation marks because as I've told my son, he will really have to think in terms of healthy eating as his basic diet. Most people do seem to stay on the diet longer than a year. And the parents of ASD kids can answer this: do you consider SCD a life-long diet plan? Here's hoping we can all keep our kids on as long as they need to be on, and that they stay healthy in every way after that. Take care, Fay (mother of 13 y.o with Crohn's) P.S. Mentors have stressed the importance of " bribes. " Problem is, my son is a hard man to buy ;-) His sisters OTOH would be thrilled with monthly shopping expeditions. Guest guest
Are you using enzymes. I have heard this speeds up the process and allows our children to be less sensitive to some foods. We are just starting down that path. Good luck!
