homemade yogurt and probiotics

I've just started this whole program and have found that my last batch of

homemade

yogurt had a very strong smell of yeast. What's going on? Can it still be

used? If not, how

can I correct this?

Also, what's the word re: PB8 (a probiotic)? We've been using this with much

improvement

in digestive health, for some time now.
