Guest guest
Hi, I just found this group tonight and wondered what anyone else's experiences have been...I am having my explant tomorrow after 2 sets of saline implants over 13 years. Last week my right implant deflated and I decided I am done! I have developed high blood pressure, joint pain, foot pain, dizziness (and even had a seizure in August), and extremely dry, itchy skin in the past couple of years, since my 2nd set was done. I have caps on both and am ready to be done with them forever. How long was the recovery for any of you and how did you feel about the results? I am very worried about the sagging. I have had 2 children, both while I had the implants, so I know my breasts have been through alot! Thanks!
Guest guest
Hi , Explant was an easy surgery compared to the implantation surgery. Recovery was quicker too...about 1 week or so. I love my results! I got a lift at explant, as recommended by my surgeon and I knew I would need one anyway. I got implants because of the sagging I experienced from childbirth and breastfeeding, but in reality, a lift would have been just fine if I had been more knowledgeable about the dangers of implants. It may be too late, but I have to ask anyway...are you getting a total capsulectomy with your explant? Those capsules will need to be removed if you want the very best chance at getting better. It sounds like you have had some health issues related to the presence of your implants. It may take quite a bit of time for all of the health issues to be resolved. Taking out implants is not like pulling a bad tooth, where you see resolution of pain and symptoms within days. With implants, the immune system can be in a state of extreme dysfunction, and it can take up to a year or even several years to have the full benefit of recovery....and recovery isn't necessarily guaranteed, although many women have recovered to a great degree. There are some women who are still suffering the ill effects of their implants even after explant because they either haven't been explanted correctly, are not living a lifestyle conducive to healing with the appropriate detoxing, or just haven't found all the right puzzle pieces to get back to the way they were before. Different systems are affected in different women, based on previous environmental toxic exposures, their individual constitutions with inherent weaknesses biologically, different hormonal fluctuations, allergic reactions, genetics, and who knows what else. So....I wish you well with your explant...we have a list in our files section of things you can do to make your explant recovery more comfortable. WE also have a list of detox ideas, and we are here to help if you need it. Take care, let us know how it went! Guest guest
Hi Patty! So far, so good. The surgery was about 2 hours, he did do a total capsulectomy and also a small lift. I feel extremely confident about my dr this time, also! I saw Dr s in VA Beach, VA. Right now the pain is better than my original surgery but still feels like a surgery! I do realize the results will take time, I am prepared for whatever. I had not thought of detoxifing but makes sense! I can telll you tis...as much as I thought I loved my big, " perfect " boobs after the original surgery, I now feel only relief that those bags are gone and I am natural again! Most of my friends have them, also. WE are the kind of people who, while not exactly vain, really take pride in our appearances and health. I feel like both will be better for me now! > > > > Hi, I just found this group tonight and wondered what anyone else's experiences have been...I am having my explant tomorrow after 2 sets of saline implants over 13 years. Guest guest
, Congratulations on your explant...and I'm really glad to hear that you are feeling relieved about the whole thing! Most women who have suffered negative consequences from implants have the same response. I would recommend that you get a copy of your operative report for your files, (just ask the doctor for a copy for the medical records you keep at home for yourself). Then read it, and look for the indications that a total capsulectomy was in fact done. You should see a discussion of how the doctor removed those capsules completely. You shouldn't see any words like " anterior " or " posterior " capsules. I hope you will heal quickly...but be patient! It took me 4 years to fully recover, and I only had my implants for 9 months. Some women take much less time, some women take that long or more. You never know. But detoxing is a good place to start the process rolling. Stay positive! That attitude goes a long way in the healing process. Take care and be well! Guest guest
By the way, I was still wondering how your children are....healthwise? YOu said you gave birth to them with the implants, right?
